A transport safety investigation is underway into the derailment of an MTM passenger train between Rushall and Clifton Hill stations on Sunday evening. The derailed train collided with stanchions carrying overhead wires, resulting in substantial damage to the overhead infrastructure. About 100 metres of track and one passenger car were also significantly damaged.
