As a result of this report and an increase in the number of notifications the ATSB received regarding engine problems in light sport aircraft, the ATSB has commenced a reports/2013/aair/ar-2013-107/" title="research investigation into the reliability of light sport aeroplane engines">research investigation into the reliability of light sport aeroplane engines.

Airservices have informed the ATSB that a review into callsign conflict has been conducted and the callsigns involved were identified as in conflict - work is underway to resolve the matter.
