The ATSB is investigating a taxiing incident involving a Pilatus PC-12/47E, VH-FXJ at Adelaide Airport, South Australia on 4 November 2024.
The pilot received a taxi clearance via a closed section of the airport resulting in the aircraft striking a temporary light used to identify an unserviceable area. The pilot was unaware they struck the light and continued to depart.
The evidence collection phase of the investigation will involve collecting pilot experience, airport lighting requirements, ATC audio, weather and NOTAM information.
A final report will be released at the conclusion of the investigation. Should a critical safety issue be identified during the course of the investigation, the ATSB will immediately notify relevant parties, so that appropriate safety action can be taken.
