While conducting an instrument approach into Rockhampton Aerodrome while in instrument meteorological conditions, the flight crew determined that the aircraft was below the required vertical flight path.
The crew immediately initiated a missed approach, and almost simultaneously received a received an E/GPWS warning.
Following the missed approach, the aircraft diverted to Mackay Aerodrome and landed without incident.
The investigation is continuing. A final report will be released at the conclusion of the investigation. Should a critical safety issue be identified during the investigation, the ATSB will immediately notify relevant parties, so that appropriate safety action can be taken.
