The Australian Transport Safety Bureau (ATSB) is investigating a runway excursion involving a Boeing 737-8FE, registration VH-YFH, at Brisbane Airport, QLD on 30 November 2022

During departure from runway 19L, which was operating with a reduced length due to works in progress, the aircraft overran the available runway for take-off. The aircraft briefly entered, and became airborne in, the section of the runway that was closed due to those runway works. The aircraft completed the departure and continued onto its destination.

The investigation is continuing.

A final report will be released at the conclusion of the investigation. Should a critical safety issue be identified during the investigation, the ATSB will immediately notify relevant parties, so that appropriate safety action can be taken.
