Beechcraft K35, VH-AYU, Bundaberg QLD, 19 December 1990

The pilot reported that after conducting a local joy flight, he had intended to do one touch and go landing, a circuit, and a full stop landing. He stated that just as he was commencing his prelanding checks, he became concerned that one of his passengers, a small child, may have been feeling ill. He then turned around to see if the child was all right, and as a result, forgot to lower the gear. He stated that he did not realise his mistake until he heard the sound of the flaps scraping on the runway.
