The Australian Transport Safety Bureau (ATSB) is investigating a rejected take-off involving SAAB 340, VH-ZRC, at Flinders Island Airport, Tasmania, on 4 November 2022.

During the take-off roll, the aircraft veered to the left and the crew detected abnormal airspeed indications before rejecting the take-off, resulting in four landing gear tyres deflating. The investigation is continuing.

As part of the investigation, ATSB investigators will interview the flight crew of the aircraft involved, other involved persons, examine flight and weather data, operator procedures and collect other relevant evidence.

A final report will be released at the conclusion of the investigation. Should a critical safety issue be identified during the course of the investigation, the ATSB will immediately notify relevant parties, so that appropriate safety action can be taken.
