Summary

The ATSB is investigating a taxiing collision involving a Avro RJ85 (British Aerospace Avro 146-RJ), registration VH-NJW, at Perth Airport, Western Australia, on 30 July 2019.

While being prepared for flight, the aircraft rolled into a light pole, causing substantial damage to the aircraft. There were no reported injuries.

The ATSB will interview involved parties and witnesses, and gather additional information.

A final report will be released at the end of the investigation.

Should a critical safety issue be identified during the course of the investigation, the ATSB will immediately notify relevant stakeholders so appropriate and timely safety action can be taken.
