The ATSB is investigating the wirestrike and collision with terrain involving a Cessna 172RG aircraft, registered VH-LCZ, at Parafield Airport, South Australia, on 3 July 2018.

On landing, the aircraft struck a wire and collided with the ground resulting in substantial damage to the aircraft. The pilot, the only person on board, received minor injuries.

As part of the investigation, the ATSB will interview the pilot and gather additional information as required.

A final report will be released at the end of the investigation.

Should a critical safety issue be identified during the course of the investigation, the ATSB will immediately notify those affected and seek safety action to address the issue.
