The ATSB is investigating a wirestrike and collision with terrain involving a R44 helicopter at Bool Lagoon, South Australia.
The pilot of the helicopter was conducting spraying work when the helicopter struck a powerline and then collided with terrain. The pilot received minor injuries and the helicopter was destroyed.
As part of the investigation, the ATSB will interview witnesses and obtain other relevant evidence and information.
A report will be released at the conclusion of the investigation. However, should a critical safety issue be identified during the course of the investigation, the ATSB will immediately notify relevant parties so appropriate action can be taken.
