The draft investigation report is being finalised and is anticipated for release to the directly involved parties (DIP) for comment in November 2016. Feedback from those parties over the 14-day DIP period on the factual accuracy of the draft report will be considered for inclusion in the final report.




The ATSB is investigating a fatal accident involving a Bell 206B helicopter accident near Camila, Queensland on 25 March 2016.

During crop spraying operations, the helicopter struck powerlines before colliding with terrain. The pilot was fatally injured and the helicopter was destroyed by post-impact fire.

As part of the investigation, the ATSB will interview witnesses, and examine aircraft and pilot documentation.
