ASP has improved safe access to the engine room crane motors by installing permanent access arrangements, including a dedicated platform and protected work areas with safety chains, to facilitate inspection and maintenance activities. These activities are now supported by formal working at height controls including permits, job safety analyses, toolbox talks, fall-protection equipment and pre-use safety checks. The relevant requirements have been incorporated into the planned maintenance procedures and reinforced through crew training and awareness programs. Collectively, these measures adequately address the safety issue. |

| Action description |
On 24 March 2026, ASP Ship Management advised that, in order to facilitate better access for inspection and maintenance of the crane traversing arrangement, it had installed a permanent platform fitted with safety chains on all ships having the similar model engine room crane. This platform was intended to replace the previous access arrangement which was not fitted with any guard rail or safety chain. On 3 September 2026, ASP advised that it had also installed stanchion posts with safety chains on top of the waste oil tank to provide a safe working space for crew undertaking maintenance on the crane hoisting motor. In addition, ASP has incorporated procedural requirements for safe access and mandatory control measures such as permits to work, job safety analysis (JSA) and toolbox discussions into the planned maintenance system work instructions. ASP provided crew with further guidance and training on safe access, working at height controls, permit requirements, JSA preparation and toolbox talks during the company's sea staff seminars in November 2025 and May 2026. ASP will continue to ensure that the access arrangements and associated work-at-height controls are maintained and applied in accordance with the established procedures. |
