Section 109 of the Legal Services Directions 2025, issued by the Attorney-General under the Judiciary Act 1903, requires the accountable authority of an entity to ensure that legal services expenditure is appropriately recorded and monitored.
The accountable authority of the ATSB is the CEO. Accountable authorities must ensure that their agencies make records of their legal services expenditure for the previous financial year, available by 30 October in the following financial year.
ATSB expenditure on legal services for 2025–26 was $476,167 comprising:
- $408,922 on internal legal services
- $67,245 on external legal services
