Summary
The student pilot was conducting solo crosswind circuits in a Cessna 172, on runway 23 at Maitland NSW. During a landing sequence, the aircraft touched down heavily and bounced.
The student then used an inappropriate recovery technique that resulted in a second heavy touchdown on the nosewheel. The propeller, cabin floor and firewall suffered damage as a result of the impact.
