The pilot reported that he conducted an aerial inspection of the strip prior to landing to ensure the runway was clear. Just after touch down the passenger alerted the pilot to the presence of an animal running towards the aircraft from the right side. The pilot was unable to manoevre the aircraft in time to prevent it colliding with a deer. The pilot and both passengers were able to exit the aircraft safely once it came to a halt. Post flight examination showed substantial damage to the aircrafts propeller, engine mounts and nose landing gear assembley.
