The Australian Transport Safety Bureau (ATSB) has strengthened its professional relationship with the Australasian Society of Aerospace Medicine (ASAM) under a newly created Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
The ATSB’s Chief Commissioner, Mr Greg Hood, joined ASAM’s President, Dr Kate Manderson, recently at the Society’s annual conference in Alice Springs to announce and sign the MoU.
“ASAM is an authoritative body of opinion on matters of aviation medical significance,” Mr Hood said. “This strategic partnership has the potential to enhance transport safety through the knowledge and expertise of ASAM’s members.”
While the ATSB and ASAM recognise that each have separate and independent roles in the aviation industry, the two organisations jointly acknowledge the benefits that can be achieved through this constructive and cooperative relationship between to improve transport safety.Last update 16 November 2018
