Despite it being unusual for a barge to anchor off Carnarvon, the Marine Safety
Business Unit did not consider it necessary to alert any boat operators to the barge's
presence in an area that was regularly transited by them.
The Australian Transport Safety Bureau recommends that the Marine Safety
Business Unit of the Western Australian Department for Planning and Infrastructure
takes action to address this safety issue. |
