Marine safety issues and actions
Recommendation issued to: American Bureau of Shipping (ABS)
|Date issued:||29 June 2007|
|Safety action status:|
|Background:||Why this Recommendation was developed|
The endurance test, as required by the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS), was not successfully completed before ABS issued a certificate of class for the platform in March 2005. Consequently, unresolved faults remained in the propulsion electrical system that may have compromised the platforms DP-2 classification.
The Australian Transport Safety Bureau recommends that the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) takes action to address this safety issue.
