|Date issued:||16 June 2006|
|Response from:||Asian Express Airlines Pty Ltd|
|Action status:||Closed - Accepted|
Asian Express Airlines (AEA) has noted the recommendation from ATSB and whilst information was requested from our Maintenance provider (Air New Zealand) in regard to the status of our wheels, AEA has agreed and the technical content of the recommendation is to be included in the next amendment of AEA's B 727 System of Maintenance. In the meantime AEA has requested Air New Zealand to inspect each wheel as it passes through the shop.
The ATSB considers that the action proposed by Asian Express Airlines, in their response to safety recommendation R20050006, is satisfactory and meets the intent of the recommendation for the implementation of a periodic inspection routine of repaired B727 main landing gear wheel hubs.
