Safety Recommendation

The Australian Transport Safety Bureau recommends that the Joint Aviation Authority review the adequacy of requirements covering protection of the engine fire detector loom wires in engine compartments.

Thank you for your letter dated 6 June 2002 relative to occurrence brief 200105701. Please note that I have no comments on the draft report and the draft recommendation that JAA review the adequacy of requirement covering protection of the engine fire detector loom wires in engine compartment.

I will pass the final report to our Powerplant Steering Group for further consideration.
