The ATSB is investigating the collision with terrain of a PZL Warszawa-Okecie M-18A Dromader aircraft, registered VH-WHR, while it was conducting aerial agricultural operations near Emerald Airport, Queensland, on 1 December 2017.

During the agricultural operations, the aircraft pitched down and collided with the ground resulting in substantial damage to the aircraft. The pilot, the only person on board, was seriously injured.

As part of the investigation, the ATSB will interview the pilot and gather additional information as required.

A report will be released in several months.
