The ATSB is investigating an engine malfunction involving a Pilatus PC-12, registered VH-OWS, near Meekatharra Aerodrome, Western Australia, on 7 August 2017.
During the climb after departing Meekatharra Aerodrome, at approximately 0230 (WST) oil began streaming across the aircraft’s cockpit windshield. The pilot decided to return to Meekatharra Aerodrome, where the aircraft landed safely. No one on board was injured.

As part of the investigation, the ATSB will interview the pilot and gather additional information.

A final safety report will be released following the conclusion of the ATSB’s investigation. Should a safety issue be identified during the course of the investigation, the ATSB will immediately notify those affected and seek safety action to address the issue.
