The ATSB is investigating a fuel exhaustion and forced landing event involving Beech 58, VH-PBU, 6 km N of Normanton Airport, Queensland, on 26 June 2017

During descent, the right engine failed. The pilot selected cross-feed to feed fuel from the left fuel tank to the right engine to restart the engine. About 30 seconds later, both engines failed. The pilot conducted a forced landing into a paddock. There were no injuries and the aircraft sustained substantial damage.

As part of the investigation, the ATSB will interview the pilot and gather additional information.

A report will be released within several months.
