The ATSB is investigating a loss of separation between a Boeing 737, registered VH-XZP, and a Robinson R44, registered VH-FOA, at Canberra Airport, Australian Capital Territory, on 2 June 2017.

Air traffic control cleared the Robinson R44 to depart parallel to runway 12 while the Boeing 737 was landing on the crossing runway 35, resulting in a loss of separation. There were no injuries or damage.

The ATSB will interview personnel involved and gather additional information.

A final safety report will be released following the conclusion of the ATSB’s investigation. Should a safety issue be identified during the course of the investigation, the ATSB will immediately notify those affected and seek safety action to address the issue.
