The ATSB is investigating a collision with terrain involving a B206, registered VH-DPU, 45 km NNW of Gladstone Airport, Queensland, on 17 March 2017.

During approach, the helicopter collided with terrain. The helicopter was substantially damaged. The pilot and passenger were injured.

As part of the investigation, the ATSB will interview the pilot and gather additional information.

A report will be released within several months.
