On 1 December 2007 an Avid Flyer ultra-light aircraft and a Cessna 172 aircraft
collided in midair within the circuit area of the Latrobe Valley aerodrome. The
pilot in the Avid Flyer was fatally injured and the Cessna 172 was safely landed.
The
investigation is continuing.
