Summary

The aircraft was engaged in low-level survey operations over an area of trees in the hills to the east of Perth. The pilot saw a pair of wedge-tail eagles and, despite evasive action, hit one of them. The aircraft sustained some damage which did not prevent the pilot safely tracking to and landing at Jandakot. The eagle had hit the left wing and caused compression of the leading edge outboard of the left engine.
