The aircraft had started descent into Darwin when the right engine ITT and torque exceeded their maximum limits. The right power lever was then moved to flight idle but had no effect on the ITT and torque. A precautionary engine shut down was then completed. The flight continued uneventfully and a landing made at Darwin. The drive from the fuel pump to the fuel control unit failed.
