The aircraft departed from runway 31. Runway lights were operating at the time. Dark night conditions prevailed. Witnesses heard and saw the aircraft flying low west of runway 31 and saw it descended very steeply. It impacted the ground 255 metres right of runway 31 centreline and about 900 metres from the 31 threshold. The ground impact marks and wreckage pattern indicated that the aircraft impacted left wing tip first in a very steep nose down attitude heading about 2780M but in a left turn. There were no survivors.
