Witnesses reported seeing the aircraft depart runway 28 and complete a full circuit without landing. On the second circuit, at a height of approximately 4 to 500 ft AGL, as the aircraft was turning onto final approach, it entered a steep nose down, spiral turn to the right. The spiral descent continued to the ground. The pilot received fatal injuries in the impact. The wind at the time was reported to be from the north/north-west gusting up to 45 kph.
