Summary

The aircraft was seen flying low (about 200ft AGL) over the city flying from west to east. As it neared the top of the range, it flew into a fog bank and clipped trees. It continued in a shallow descent on the eastern side of the ridge line and crashed into the roof of a house.

The aircraft exploded in a fire ball. The fuselage and engine separated from the wings and came to rest on the other side of the house. Two occupants of the house escaped through windows. One person required hospitalisation.
