The Australian Transport Safety Bureau (ATSB) is an independent Commonwealth Government Statutory Agency. The ATSB is governed by a Commission and is entirely separate from transport regulators, policy makers and service providers. The ATSB's purpose is to improve safety of, and public confidence in, aviation, marine and rail transport through:
- independent investigation of transport accidents and other safety occurrences
- safety data recording, analysis and research
- fostering safety awareness, knowledge and action.
The ATSB does not investigate for the purpose of apportioning blame or to provide a means for determining liability.
The Temporary Employment Register is open for candidates to register a general expression of interest for employment with the ATSB. The Temporary Employment Register allows the ATSB to access appropriately skilled and experienced individuals at short notice for non-ongoing (temporary) position. Opportunities may be offered on a full-time, part-time or irregular/intermittent (casual) basis for short-term opportunities.
There is no guarantee that an offer of employment will be made whilst your application remains on the register. You will only be contacted if a vacancy arises that matches your skills and experience.
The ATSB offers temporary employment opportunities across a wide range of corporate functions including:
- Human Resources
- Learning and Development
- Communications marketing and media
Temporary employment opportunities may also extend to other business functions such as Transport Safety Investigators for aviation, marine and rail.
To register you will need to submit the following to firstname.lastname@example.org:
- an application cover sheet (available below) including answering the two questions in the cover sheet
- a current resume with two referees.
Your registration in the Temporary Employment Register will remain active until 30 September 2019.
It is a general expectation that employees of the Australian Public Service (APS) are Australian citizens or are intending to apply for Australian citizenship.
You will have no impediments towards obtaining a Baseline security clearance.
You will be required to undergo a number of pre-employment checks, which may include a police records check and health clearances.
Note: Non-ongoing or temporary employment opportunities may be offered on a full-time, part-time or irregular/intermittent (casual) basis depending on operational requirements up to a maximum length of 18 months.
